おみくじ

Hi !

Last time, I introduced about “おまいり”(visiting shrines and temples), Especially, “はつもうで”is to visit shrines and temples in the newr's eve!

So I'd like to tell you about “おみくじ”today.
It is called "fortune slip" in English.

You can enjoy it when you do the おまいりorはつもうで.

☆How to enjoy☆

　

First , to pray for god and tell your this year's ambitions and hope.

Then, you go to the bureau and try おみくじ.

You shake the box like this, and turn it upside down. Then the stick written the number was came out.

←You can get your number's おみくじ

（a piece of paper written about your fortune. ）

If your おみくじ isn't good, Don't worry, you can purification it to tie like the pucture!

How did you spend your New year's Eve ??

I had a great time with my family and friends and enjoyed Japanese traditional New year's dishes.

By the way, this picture is in the shrine in Nagano prefecture. (Right is my friend. Left is Me!)

Do you know what we wear in this picture?

These are called "hakama", one of the Japanese Kimono styles and the costume for a maiden in the service of a "Shinto" shrine.
I wore this costume when I worked at there!!

In general, many Japanese visit to pay homage and wish ambitions for Buddha there at the new year's eve.
It's Japanese cultural custom, and also First Big Event in the year!!
